23432-PCY-306 is for AP1 2nd gearset.
23432-PCY-336 is for AP2 2nd gearset. (23432-PCY-316 and 23432-PCY-326 are interchangeable with 23432-PCY-336 with the 23432-PCY-336 being the latest iteration.)

To answer your question, if you have an AP2 transmission you have the right part. (I too ordered the 23432-PCY-316 but got the 23432-PCY-336 which works fine as it replaces the earlier version of the AP2 2nd gearset.)

I hate to bump such an old thread but I haven't seen any other threads about this.
I recently ordered a new gear set. Apparently 23432-PCY-326 has been updated and the most current part number is 23432-PCY-336. The only problem is we can't figure out which synchro goes where. The original (MY05) had carbon coating on each side while the new updated part has carbon coating only on one side's set.
Does anyone know the proper orientation of the new part? brass one for 1st gear and carbon for 2nd? or vice versa? We can't seem to find any info in the service manuals and even Honda tech's were at a loss thinking that both sides should be the same.
Thank you for ANY help! Need help ASAP!
I've attached a few photos for reference

Like you said, the originals seem to have carbon on both of them, but from what I can tell the replacement set part number 23432-PCY-336 only has carbon on the second gear. I would think it would benefit more on second gear in this case anyway since you shift to second at speed where you usually shift into first stopped (or at very low speed). Please take this with a grain of salt as I am not a professional transmission mechanic... Hopefully someone with specific experience here can weigh in.
