Sorry about the zombie post resurrection... I'm having the same issue as described and my search is running In circles. My local s2000 expert is fairly certain that my throw out bearing needs replacing, but that sound was there since I bought the car (kind a buzzing sound upon deceleration). The most recent sounds is the pulsating noise. As described above it starts at about 25mph and gets faster wen accelerating. Clutch in, out, neutral, makes no difference in sound. Neither does pitching left and right. Axle nuts have been re-tensioned. Now, the most peciuliar symptom is that it seems to have a steering lag- I noticed it immediately when the sound began. It doesn't feel like it's on the steering wheel end, but more like the rear of the car has a brief slip as if I were hydro planing. I really want to figure this out before it turns into something bigger (my college student budget allows for emergencies but I'm not made of money) thanks!

So what was the end result? Was it the wheel bearings?

I replaced my rear driver hub and wheel bearings. Car rides like brand new!
