Default Radiator and coolant aftermarket

Hi all,
I will be changing the radiator on my s2000 for mishimoto performance rad, I will be ordering it from demon tweeks and Also I will need rad coolant, so I thought I might ask a simple easy question.
Could I use Motul Expert http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...expert-coolant to fill up my rad ? ( will it be ok for the engine? will it work with fully aluminium rad and the aluminium engine? ) anyone runs this coolant? asking because I can order this with the radiator 5L for 22 euro where as Local honda delear (ireland) quoted me 50 euro for 5L for type 2 blue.

Thank You.

Or is there a special coolant I will need to use with mishimoto rad?

Car is drive on road.

This is the Coolant that is available locally
I simply cannot find the specifications for this thing. My question is, are all HONDA engines Aluminum? Because they state it is for ALL Honda engines and ALL season. For the record my 2018 CRV (US made) came in with blue coolant , which I intend to top off with the Type 2 coolant, need to get a couple of Gallons before they run out

Misimoto has a bad reputation on this forum. Koyorad is the preferred selection. If its available where you are, I'd highly suggest choosing it instead.

My stock radiator finally leaked, and I did significant research on best replacement choice. Koyo was by far best rated.

Would there be a reason not to use a new OEM radiator?

Thanks!

Probably just cost or availability. But right now I see the OEM at Majestic Honda for $288. So probably the same or even cheaper than the Koyo depending on where you buy it.

I have an aftermarket radiator, it's been 3 years since I changed it. Still works. I think the OEM one is good but overpriced. Then again the OEM one lasted 160k miles before the end tank started to fatigue.

OEM plastic end tanks will eventually fail again. Mine went at 150k miles. Theoretically, an all metal rad would last longer. But 150k miles is a really long time.

But eventually you won't be able to find OEM radiators. You'll either have to use an aftermarket oe style with plastic, or aftermarket performance all metal.

Which is the real reason to go aftermarket all metal, higher performance. Particularly the Koyo, which is thinner, hence lighter (less rad weight plus less coolant weight), yet better cooling.

For the street, at stock power levels, cooling performance of stock radiator exceeds all needs. But if boosted or tracking, cooling performance becomes an issue.

When it comes to cars value, all stock beats modified. So if its otherwise stock, keep rad stock.

If you don't like the boy racer look of aluminum end tanks underhood, you can paint them Black. Don't paint the fins unless you use something like Eastwood radiator paint (can't see fins anyway). Otherwise paint affects cooling. But end tanks can be painted without issue. SEM Trim Black works well for end tanks.

Are you talking about a Koyo OE replacement part?
The Koyorad I got is much thicker and heavier, 3.82kg vs 2.55kg for the OEM one, this is without fluid as well.
I got the "thin" 36mm version, I think most aftermarket radiators are even thicker than that.

I'm at 130k miles currently; so, perhaps my rad will give out soon someday.

I'm a proponent of oem parts and oem stock look; but, I'd def go Koyo just for the piece-of-mind of being all-metal and having robust metal end-tanks.

150k miles on the oem rad sounds awesome.... but, I'd rather have a rad with 300k-500k mile longevity ;D

Btw... how much coolant do the Koyo rads take? Same 6.9qts as oem?

It takes more coolant since its a wider core. Not sure how much tho.

IIRC, mine took 2.5 or more gallons BUT I pulled the block drain plug. Not just the radiator.
