Default AP2 trans swap to AP1

Im planning on swapping an AP2 trans mission into my AP1. I looked around the board all I have come up with is to swap the output shaft from the AP1 to AP2. Fortunately I just replaced my slave cylinder on my Ap1 so I will be swapping that over as well. My clutch was recently replaced so that will change over as well. But what else will I need to change or keep in mind? Any good threads that have covered this?

Im going to put Innovative mounts in as well.
New Honda MTF fluid.
All new Honda hardware

Anything else recommended to be changed?

Also what will I need to set my Modifry speed calibrator to. It will be Ap2 trans and 4.77 gears?

Thanks in advance

Eric

As long as your not changing the diff, all you need to change is the output flange on the tranny. Set your modifry to your final drive, which is 4.77.

As you stated, change all of the hardware while you have it off (I am referring to the hex bolts on the tranny to drive shaft flange)

You wont need ALL new hardware. The only bolts I recommend buying are the 12 driveshaft bolts, and the nut that holds the output flange on. Unstaking the nut can tear it up a little. It is surely re-useable, but you seem to want a clean job.

It will change the speedo also. Speed sensor reads countershaft speed, not mainshaft/driveshaft speed. 4.77 settings will not be right. I can help you with the settings....best and easiest way to do it is set it with a GPS. Set it to be accurate at 70 mph. I would have it read 1-2 mph high, to avoid crossing speeding ticket margins while cruising.

Thanks for the info!! I knew the speed would be off again and the numbers on the clock wheels would need to be changed again. But, do I want to use the AP2 speed sensor or AP1 or does it matter?

I use the modifry yellow jacket for my AP2 + 4.3FD combo.

None one can give you an exact setting because wheel and tire size. What I did was just install it, and then go out for a drive, use your nav, and borrow another one if you can and use them to help you calculate.

I checked my speedo against the nav at 25, 45, and 65 mph.
