Hey gene we'd like to thank you for playing pick up your consolation prize at the door.
more like 1200 plus a little. the other pump had separated as well down further in.
plus 475 for pumping yesterday.
I am amused when folks complain about cost of municipal water and sewer.
"oooh my quarterly bill was $350, they're ripping me off. "

When I was much younger my parents had a septic system. The first time we had it pumped the gentleman that did it gave my dad a business card that said "Your sheit is my bread and butter."

Is glad our sheit does not need to pump uphill. We had the septic system redone about 15 years ago. 13K, and that's actually a cheap re-do. Since the system failed and we ended up not selling the house, we got some tax credits from the fine state of MA over the next few years. I got about 40% of our $ back.
We called the "honeywagon" to come by for pumping every other year. Given the size of the tank and only two people in the household, that time frame is more than sufficient. The cost of the pumping is about $250.00. Jerry might live in the better part of town to pay $475.00. but perhaps that was due to where they needed to be?
Water bills are still $100.00/quarter. Not a to of money, but more than double what they were when we bought the house, as are the taxes, and the.............you get where I'm going.......
Glad things will be better in your world, Jerry.

the extra $$$ for pumping was both tanks had to be pumped. so about 3000 gallons.
The first tank is about 1200 gallons, is normally what gets pumped.
Usually the other tank is empty since it got pumped to the leach field but when the pumps aren't, you wind up with a whole lotta extra.
he gave me a "volume discount" and only wrote 1000 gallons on the second tank.
I was a little surprised to see $50 in sales tax but I guess they even tax sh^t.
I guess time flies when you're having fun since I actually was way overdue for a pumping ( six years) so I have no complaints.
They have to come back in the spring and adjust the piping between the tanks and install another riser. so that'll be another $950.
Also had the furnaces cleaned today ( $205) and he told me I need a new blanket in the bottom of the burner which will be another $300.
Hey come on down, we're just giving away money.
This topic makes me think back to my uncle in Maine. When I was a young boy, they had an "indoor" outhouse attached to the back of the house.
Periodically it had to be emptied, apparently by hand, with a shovel.

Just spent two hours, twisted up under the dashboard, re-installing a climate control blower motor in the wife's old S430.
talk about un-natural acts. I don't seem to bend that way any more.
blind screws with torx heads, installed by braille.

Verizon has been jerking us off with their data plan options of late. I was perfectly happy to add more dat to the plan.
BUT, We have a land line and wireless so had bundled billing.... oh you can't raise you're limit until you drop the bundled services.
Hmm bundled services were worth $25 a month discount....
tell you what, F-YOU, drop the landline entirely. how you like them apples?
I strongly suspect they are getting ready to pare off the land line services business and sell it to frontier or some one like that.
oh wait this is the phone company , we don't have to care.
