Since I started this thread, my local friendly Mercedes dealer has decided to re-brand itself into a steal-ership.
In the past, since I was servicing 4 vehicles with them, I have always received a fleet discount which reduced the cost of routine service a lot.
But they got a new service manager and The B service which does include a brake fluid flush besides the oil change suddenly moved north of $724.82. $537 of which was labor.
For the record that was purely the service with no extraneous other problems or issues. This is on a normally aspirated V-8.
as for my former discount.... " I can't afford to be giving away my profits on what is already a reduced low margin labor rate."
my poor heart nearly broke for this guy.
Oh wait, I was confused for a moment there, clarifying, I almost had a heart attack dealing with this guy.
So I broke down and bought one of these, it's a mightyvac 7300 8.8 liter vacuum for liquids.
also does brake fluids.

If I ever do buy another mercedes, a service contract out to 100K miles will be part of the deal.
but for now this new guy gets 100% of nothing. I'll never step foot back in his dealership. Stupid #^%&.

When I owned an ’03 Audi RS6 that was out of warranty most dealerships charged $450-$500 for an oil change. The costs included fluids, filter, and labor. This was a 2011 price; by now it’s probably $700. I tried an oil/filter change once and thought, “never again’’, fortunately Audi recommended 10,000 mile change intervals. I do remember that the filter was a real pain to access and change requiring a 3' ratchet extension not to mention all of the chassis oil pans that needed removing/replacing. (mumble...mumble)

My Audi A6 oil change, lube & inspection runs $138. Keep in mind it takes seven quarts of synthetic 5w40. $500 to $700 is totally mind boggling to me.

I do all the oil changes via gravity on my MDX, S2000, Tacoma, and daughter's TL. Brake bleeding is via gravity and the Billman method including other non S cars. Works great! (Super Blue ATE SL-6)

My DD 94 T-Bird is done at the dealer for $29.99. Can't beat it and the darn filter is sooooo hard to reach!

I finally got around to do the oil changes on the two older MB's.
I can see why they use suction. It took longer to warm up the car than it did to do the change itself.

I stumbled a little on the first one. it seems it won't actually draw out any oil if the valve is in the closed position.
worked rather after that.

Wow! Those prices make it easier to justify the lift I bought last year. At those labor rates, it would only take 3 DIY oil changes to cover the cost of the lift.
