We had knockwurst, baked beans and the coleslaw last night. It was so good. The coleslaw is all gone. The +1 had never had that kind. He probably won't be going back to any other.

I may make some of that today, but not sure. I have to go grocery shopping, etc. today for some good cabbage, etc. Maybe I'll serve it with ham, turnip greens and whatever for NYDay.

Love to cook using the smoker. Will cook any meat, fish, or poultry. It is interesting useing different types of wood to give a different flavor to what you are cooking. I usually use Mesquite and / or apple and pear for meat. For poultry its apple or pear. For fish its pecan. Personally I dont like Hickory as it seems to over power the natural flavor of what ever you are smoking.

I am not traditional as I use propane for cooking. I find that I can keep a more even temperature with the propane rather than tossing in logs.

Made Russian Cheese to put on french bread after Angela gets here. We'll have paninis, a little potato salad and fruit when she arrives. I'm sure she'll be famished. I doubt she'll get anything much on the plane. We'll toast with sparkling cider after!

We had fresh baked croissants with jam and fruit along with hazelnut coffee for breakfast. Don't know what's coming later -- I think we're heading over for a little beach walk and then who knows?????

Well Happy New Year everybody from your long-lost Granny on Val's computer. Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous new year. Having a ball with the Valster and Jim. First time I've stayed up long enough to see the ball drop in years. How nice to bring it in with good friends. Is Dean still on here? If so, Dean, you may have to text Val the number to 911 to get me out of here like you did when I stayed at your place. Once again, the hospitality is just too great and I ain't leaving. I still miss you guys. Hi Bolt. I may be back before I leave because there's no telling what Val will get me into next. Latest suggestion was a walk on the beach in our jammies. Take care everybody.

There's still time! We'd love to share our joy. Oh, bring some of that yummy smoked meat you've been talking about.
