Always loved that jingle-jangle tone that McGuinn got from his Rickenbacker and small Ampeg amps, for studio work. That Rik is HEAVY! Like almost as heavy as my Gibson Les Paul. I think that Peter Buck of REM was influenced by McGuinn. His style and use of Rik guitar has that jingle-jangle to it. Esp the early REM stuff.
