After seeing the Video that was done by one of the attendees of the 2016 S2K Days in Durango, which I showed to some family members who enjoyed watching it. I had fleeting thoughts about buying a drone. But, we live in a no fly zone .

I also am realistic enough to know that after one has flown one and the novelty has worn off, that it would be a dust collector. Been there and done that! Like the RC Helicoptor that the Plant Pixie bought for me a few years ago. It was fun scaring the cats with it for a while, but that got old after a while.

Got the +1 an Ipad so she could dump the lousy Kindle she has and then a DNA kit as she is interest ed in all that genealogy stuff. Those kits are pretty reasonable if you are looking for an unusual gift.

Yeah, I think they could become dust collectors, or the kids could get into trouble with them. I could use mine to fish for tuna.

Now there is a good idea. Tuna spotter. I would say it is considerably cheaper than someone in an airplane.

get out far enough and you won't be bothered by those silly FAA rules.

I just took a look. As a recreational user, I don't see any problem using it for fishing. Depending on the weight, I may have to register it. .55 pounds seems pretty light. The five miles from an airport kinda kills it for use around my house.

I'd buy a drone but I can't figure out what I'd do with it.

I've though about getting a drone, but suspect it would be fun for about 1/2 hour and after that it would spend a lot of time on a shelf.
