To appreciate a drone you need to be deeply involved in photography or need it for your profession. I’m waiting for the DJI Inspire 2 which will be launched in January 2017. This newest model is tougher and more powerful than the DJI Inspire 1. With a good camera and controller the results are amazing.

Drone usage is a lot more that just flying something about for a while and then sitting it aside to gather dust.

Gary, I would agree. I remember how long my interest lasted flying a kite. I remember how long my interest lasted flying a remote control airplane. I'm sure a drone would be the same.
