Try a shot of Jack Daniels and honey in a hot cup of herbal tea. After 4 or 5 of those you won't give a $hit about how you feel. An old family remedy from Grandma.

Jim Beam is much better than Jack Daniels. I haven't had a cold in years, years, years. . .. . .. years.

Now there's an excellent suggestion!

I prefer Jack.

I called my doctor and got an antibiotics prescription yesterday.

I gotta ask. What are the antibiotics for? Unless you have bacterial infection, they don't help, was/is your doc is worried about pneumonia or something? It's a fact that antibiotics are over prescribed. I have a brother in law who has needed them for various UTI issues. He ended up with a horrible case of Cdiff. If you aren't familiar with it, check it out. The fewer antibiotics one takes the better.

Yes. My doctor said he's put three people in the hospital with pneumonia this month.

Got it! Hope you feel better. I have asthma and if a respiratory infection lingers I've been given antibiotics, "just in case." Of late though, I'd be more hesitant to take them.......

Wow! That isn't good. Did you have a Pneumovax? I'd recommend it, after you've recovered from your cold. Since I work at Keck, we get all those shots for free (if wanted). Flu, pneumovax, tetanus, whatever.
