I could be wrong but Honda having 143 problems per 100 vehicles seems high. Is it possible that the 100 should be 1000?

^ See the link. Its the average problems reported per 100 vehicles; i.e. if every one had one problem it would be 100 problems. In Honda's case, using this example it would mean another 43 people reported two problems.

There's a thread about this on the "car talk" section of the forum. It says many of the complaints are about the entertainment/navigation systems.
That's the only way I could see Acura (with its horrible 2-screen setup) could rank well below BMW and Mercedes.

It’s a personal thing, but for me the JD Power rankings are meaningless. Most of the responses involved balky tech rather than driving, handling, and reliability issues. Balky tech problems are much more significant for my grandchildren who are reliant on social contacts while driving - it's just not meaningful for me.

Lexus is always near the top. I owned 4 and they were great cars. A glorified Camry for sure but reliable and luxurious. Where is Hyundai, they are making some nice quality vehicles.

I am suspicious of any quality list that ranks BMW ahead of Honda.

Personal experiences count the most but not in the larger picture.
The wife can't accept that Subaru is free-falling either. But it is, and the one's she drives is an example of too much, too fast.
As for Hyundai, didn't the link say how much they improved! See quote

The most improved brand was Hyundai, which shed 25 problems per 100 vehicles to come in at 133. It ranked sixth, up from 19th last year. Power says it was Hyundai's best-ever showing.
