showing off my kid's stuff.
My son got an undergrad and masters at RIT in Game development.
While he was doing his masters, he tied up with some other folks in a small start up doing a virtual reality haptic feedback body suit.
They've been operating in stealth mode for the last two years but they are finally are coming out of the dark and going public with their goodies.
Hardlight VR
I have to admit to being a little jealous, startups are so much fun.
It's a lot like catching lightning in a bottle but what a blast when you do.

although the Best Buy booth was for the Samsung VR experience, which like googles daydream, is a smart phone in a mask.
The google daydream was a little disappointing to be honest.
The VR space they are working in is "real VR" if you will. very immersive experience backed by heavy processing power dedicated for gaming coupled with the oculus rift viewer.
I can only hope that they can pop like oculus did, as they got acquired by facebook for $2 Billion.
sometime in the next week or so they will be floating their Kickstarter campaign.
in any event, the experience he is getting is just incredible.
although I'm not sure he realizes it yet, he'll always be able to look back on these years as special.
I think the singular emotion I remember more than any other was the unbridled enthusiasm, tomorrow is going to be even better than today.
Certainly as compared to the daily drudgery of the 8-5 grind of your later career.

I'll be happy just to have him have a good learning experience and maybe make enough money to be comfortable.
He's young enough were risk is fairly low, no house, no wife, no kids so even if it all goes in the crapper, he just picks himself up and goes to the next startup.
Ironically, working start ups is lower risk than a "normal" job since you're more employable when you leave.
