Without the math, I would say that you are correct, that the pressure differential at boiling will be will be the same both inside and out of the kettle, there should be a difference with respect to the time interval at sea level versus elevation but I believe (but I could be wrong) that difference in pressure at full boil will produce the same tone. That said, I hated thermo, so that might be clouding my aging mind.
Now if I could just find that differential equations book........I am sure that there is an integral for this.
