^ Charleston is a wonderful choice. Such a great city with lots of good food and interesting history. If you can, take a walking tour. The +1 hasn't done the Charleston race, but did do the Kiawah Island race last year (about 30 miles south of Charleston). Another lovely place!! Looking at all the medals hanging here from his longer races since I've known him. I count 27 (marathons/half marathons/200-mile relays/etc) but he'll be adding some more half marathons soon - Oct (NC), Nov (Annapolis - his third I think), and Feb (AZ). I'll ask him his favorite race. Might be hard to choose just one.
EDIT: Most fun - Bourbon Chase in KY (200-mile relay); Best food (hands down) - Lafayette LA Half Marathon; Most technically difficult - Smoky Mountain Relay (another 200-miler); Best fans - Houston TX Half Marathon (plus we had a great time with Jim and Chris); Craziest - Las Vegas Rock and Roll Half Marathon (at night on the strip).

^ Nope...anyone who can finish a marathon gets an A+ from me.

My first full is in two weeks so I can not speak on a full, however I have done many halfs that have fulls attached to them so I would say San Francisco is my favorite with Rock-N-Roll Las Vegas with a close second.

Cool hearing your experiences. Here are our favorites:
Most romantic: Rome. Ran it for our 20th anniversary.
Best overall: New York
Toughest (tie): Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham, AL and Boston (she qualified, I paid to get in since there was no way I could qualify for a men's spot)
Best organized: Akron, OH
Most disappointing: Disney. Only about 6 miles were in the parks, the rest were on the beautiful Orlando interstate system and other long, straight roads)
Best crowds: Flying Pig in Cincinnati

Looking to book an early-2017 marathon. Likely Charleston. My wife and I are picking off the states, and we have not done SC yet.
For the runners out there, what is your favorite marathon?

Joy and I are looking at a trip to Scotland in the back half of 2017. We're still doing some research, and we have to see what the work schedules might vaguely be.

Kind of tapering. I have been building over the past few weekends and have been getting stronger each week even though I am going longer. This weekend I am cutting back to 14 down from the 20's. I also have been working on my fueling. I will get that narrowed down this weekend.
