Are you ready for some football?

Steelers have their work cut out for them. Brady is probably licking his chops. However, the Steelers didn't have a great season until late in the season. The Ravens did the same when the won the Super Bowl a couple of years ago beating Brady and Manning in the playoffs. Don't count em out.

I don't know, that coach of the Steelers swears a lot.
I think the biggest problem they'll have is that the Pats played like crap last weekend.

Belichick is great at neutralizing an opposing offense's best weapon. Be interested to see which of the Killer B's he focuses his defensive game plan on. I'm thinking he tries to shut down Bell (Good luck with that) figuring he can rush four and his secondary can keep Brown more or less under control. New England does have the best scoring defense in the league this year.
I figure New England can score against a Steeler defense that has improved but still has a way to go before they dominate a good offense. It will be up to Ben to keep up in Foxborough. Prediction: Pats even at -5, but I wouldn't put much on this one.
Will Rodgers outduel Ryan in Atlanta? Take the Falcons and give the 5 points but bet the mortgage and the farm on the over (Currently at 60).
Of course I don't really know what I'm talking about so I don't actually bet real money on these games.

a good article ( even if you account for a homeward lean)
The debate is over. Bill Belichick is the greatest NFL coach ever. - The Boston Globe

Saw a report this morning that the moving companies in San Diego are refusing to move the Chargers to LA.

Sounds like when the Baltimore Colts semi-official band (yes, they had a band) broke into a Colts storage facility to get their instruments and uniforms.
I feel for Chargers fans who supported the team but are now victims of a short-sited ownership decision after voters refused to spend a billion or two on a new stadium for said ownership. Good for those taxpayers for refusing to bow to such blatant extortion. Good luck to the poor Chargers players and coaches in a city that in the past has barely supported one NFL team...and that team currently plays in Oakland.

Noll, Lombardi, Madden, Walsh, Landry, and Shula (Don, not Dan) were all really good coaches. Of course most did their best work when their teams were loaded with talent. Parcells did more with less than most coaches but his Super Bowl rings came in New York and the Giants have since twice more won it all with what most consider second level talent. Jimmy Johnson coached some great teams but they were great mostly because of the talent on the field.
Paul Brown is probably the greatest coach in pro football history. But Belichick has earned a place in the conversation. Sure he's had Brady all these years but that begs the question of who is responsible for who's success. It's like asking if it was Sean Peyton or Drew Brees is responsible for New Orleans finally becoming a respectable franchise and winning a ring. And he did coach the Pats to a 3-1 start with his backup at QB.
With Belichick, I am reminded of a gem uttered by another pretty good coach, Bum Phillips who once said of Earl Campbell, "He may not be in a class by himself, but it don't take long to call the roll."
