I've been washing my cover for over two years now with a small amount of non bleach liquid detergent (same stuff I wash clothes in) and not had any problems. I think this fantastic stuff is recommended but IMO not the only way to go.

fantastik is (I guess) a trade mark owned by the S.C. Johson Wax Co.

The logo on the link provided by wanabe above looks pretty much exactly like the logo on the spray bottles of fantastik you see in the grocery stores etc. Makes me wonder if the like above is just a bulk way of buying the same product ??

See

http://www.fantastik.com/

to see what I mean.

Thoughts ??

If you go to wanabe's link they say the online store is closed at this time.

The Fantastik that they recommend is indeed the same fantastik that you but at any supermarket, I just called Cal. Car Cover ( they recommend using Fantastik for all their covers ) and I was told that there is only one FANTASTIK and it is what is used for cleaning car covers. save your money on shipping, go to the local grocery store.

Fantastik in non-bleach form is a good, safe product to use on the exterior, leather, and vinyl for those tough spots to get out. Regular use is not recommended on leather or vinyl.

Great, I will take a trip to the cleaners. I hope I still have the bag for the cover.

So now that Fantastik is no longer available, what cleaner is recommended?

I've used this product for years on numerous car covers. It safely cleans without being harsh.

Another 11 year old thread! But...

Not sure what these covers are made of. Woolite or Dawn are the recommended soaps for Sunbrella (brand) fabric. Soap, not detergent. Sunbrella needs 303 protector applies after washing to remain waterproof. My boat and sail covers are out in the weather 7 months of the year and get very dirty.
