I used sonax for a while, but then went back to old regular cleaning by hand with soap and a towel. While sonax stil great to get the heavy stuff broken up, it still required a post-rinse wipe down to get the wheels completely clean.

I need some insight on this too. After track day wat is the best stuff to get out baked brake dust. And how about tire marks?

What brake pad are you using? Sonax was not able to remove the Hawk DTC-60 brake dust off my wheels.

those pads are what I'm referring too. Haha looks like nothin can take off dtc60 dust. Currently switched to wilwood compound a pads. Better overall pad and less dust.

Sonax reacts with iron particles to dissolve them. It's quite possible the Hawk pads have different chemical composition (much less iron content) compared to the typical brake pads. Did Sonax make any difference at all?
