wheel cleaner and effects on rotor
Got a question for you detailing gurus out here. does the wheel cleaners such as sonax, bdx, ironx remove the brake pad transfer layer if it got sprayed on the rotor surface?
i always noticed after a wash the brakes seems to give more bite for the first 5 minutes

I would expect it does , at least the metallic particles, not all brake material is metallic.

I would not worry about it. The iron rotor can oxidize very quickly with just water and what you feel may be associated with that. Just rinse and go. The one big thing is not to set the brakes after a wash/clean. You can get an uneven oxidation from the exposed disc versus the part where the pads are making contact. So put the car in gear on a level spot instead of using the parking brake.
