So I was in Groton, CT the other day. I was sitting at a red light and this modded blue del sol pulled up next to me. It had a loud exhaust so me and 2 of my buddies who were in my 2003 Honda Pilot EX look at it and the kid who was in it revs the engine, so i laugh, put it in neutral and rev too. So the light turns green and we floor it . I hear him redlining every gear. We run it until about 85mph which is when i shut down, and at the end i had a good 2 car lengths on him. Funniest experience ever, the kid fled, didn't wanna chat about getting spanked by a stock SUV, lol. Oh well, I go up there all the time so maybe i'll see the del slow...er... del sol (my bad) again. Pilots are very quick for an SUV. Just wanted to share my funny experience with you guys.

the reason u spanked him is because he has a 1.6 sohc lol.
if he had a dohc model he will spank u 1.6 dohc quater mile 14,5 that will kill you for sho, GOT SOL ?

A stock 1.6 DOHC del sol pulls no where near 14.5. Probably low 15's at BEST.

But even so, still prolly faster than the SUV. lol

Not dissin on the del sol's, i just think if you are gonna be revving at someone instigating you should be able to back it up.

I traded a DOHC Sol for the S. The best time I could ever squeeze out of it was a 15 flat. The only SUV that ever gave me a decent run was a Grand Cherokee. That was such a fun little car...I would really miss it if it weren't for the S
