I was in my last year of University when the S2K first came out and wanted one immediately. Unfortunately, I was a broke ass student and didn't have CAD$50k laying around to get one. Bikes are my first passion and I started racing the year after and well that's a money pit.




Only pics I could find in my Photobucket. I had a nice crash in the first race of the 2006 season and tore up my shoulder pretty good. That was the last time I raced competitively. Having only one parking spot in the condos that I've lived in has basically meant that I've always had to be a one car guy and the S2K isn't a great only car. So had to find other things that I could stuff places to keep me occupied.

Like my Ruckus that I actually took apart 3 years ago to redo it and still haven't got around to it.








And my BWS125 that's been bored and stroked to 168cc.



Then I found this Piaggio Ape dead and rusting away in a farmers field in Kingston, Ontario and bought it before common sense got the better of me. Took me two years to restore this.









I finally finished the Piaggio in 2013 (except for the bed. Never did get around to that) and it required that I get another parking spot in my condo. Hopefully you see where I'm going with this.

Actually, picked up a minty Yamaha YSR50 and a project Honda Metro that's getting a fatty which is not complete yet.








Then I don't know what happened but I got the itch to finally pick up a S2000. So I sold the Piaggio Ape at the end of last summer and now I had an empty parking spot.

This 2007 Silverstone AP2. Bought it in March of this year. It was pretty clean mostly stock. Had a terrible welded on Magnaflow exhaust, K&N FIPK, Alpine deck and Sub box in the trunk but the rest was stock. Funny thing is its originally a US car and the guy I bought it from didn't realize that the odometer also converts from miles to kilometres not just the speedo. So when I was looking at it he kept telling me it had 100k kilometres on it. Well I looked at the odometer and it said 60k on it so he thought it had 60,000 miles on it. I got it for a pretty fair price.




Well the first thing I had to do was get rid of that exhaust. Roll the fenders And get some decent wheels. And lower it a bit. Tanabe Medalion Touring, Volk TE37 17x7.5 +48 and 17x8.5 +50 wrapped in 215/245 RE-71's, and Ohlins R&T DFV solved that.





And to be honest, that's all I was really planning on doing. Then I started looking at some of the cars on here. Black hole.

I really wanted an OEM lip because I want this car to not draw too much attention. It looks good and it's clean. So I bought an eBay rep that I was going to paint but ended up just biting the bullet for an OEM one.




Dashcam is a necessity for a street car nowadays. Have it hooked up to an aux battery pack so it works as a parking can as well.



Got some nice mats.



Some people have no problem heal-toeing with the stock pedals but they are just too far apart for me so I got a set of Autovation pedals. Still haven't installed the clutch pedal or the dead pedal. Will eventually.




Wanted a countersunk knob so went with this ARC Titan.



The blind spots on this car are nuts with the top up so I got some Vision Technica wide angle mirrors.



And then that was really all I wanted to do. Until I started driving the car in summer weather.

Wasn't the original plan but these cars are too good not to take to the track. So started gathering some parts for the track but still want it to keep a stockish look.

Alloycraft diffuser.



J's Type-S bumper that needs to be painted still. The plan is to swap bumpers for track days, which I'm guessing might get tedious after awhile.



I had high expectations for the stock seats of the S2000. I figured they must be nice otherwise why would people steal these all the time. I'll say it. I have no love for the stock seats. I never sat in a Bride before so based on my waist size I just ordered one from Japan and crossed my fingers that I'd fit. Bride Stradia II and other stuff from Japan.





Didn't want a bunch of gauges in my car so picked up a Defi Advance ZD. Have it hooked up to pick up Oil temp, oil pressure, coolant temp, tach, volts, and speedo. I'll move it up to the phone holder dash location for the track so I can see it without looking down. The shift lights and beeper will be useful as well.





Installed a Cusco floor bar, Spoon subframe rigid collars and a Whiteline cross brace.




Popped the hood and went with a J's upper strut bar with ETD, Mishimoto rad and fans, Radium dual catch cans, and Alloycraft cooling plate and heat shield.





Downforce lip/splitter thing.



Wanted something more grippy for the steering wheel too. Went with Guardian Designs based on some reco's from here.





I think that's everything that's actually installed so far. I'll have some more updates soon I think:

Car looks great! Great thread. How high do the quick jacks get the car off the ground. I have been eyeing a set. You get the bl3500 or 5000?

Thanks man! I got the 5000 so I could use it with other cars. It just fits the wheelbase of the S2k. I've never actually measured how high it goes but it's a fair raise. Not that I'd recommend doing it but I can get my whole head under one of the wheels laying on a creeper. So there's decent room working underneath. It's a simple setup and quick to lift up and down. Heavy though. Technically portable sure, but not like a jack and a few Jack stands. It is low enough though that you don't need to jack the car up to get the Quickjack underneath. At least at my height. Which is good because the rear diffuser covers the diff Jack point. I'd recommend it for sure if you were looking at spending that kind of money on something.

Awesome build Norm, I really love the project bikes and the Piaggio, amazing toys. The S2000 project looks great, tasteful mods. I also wanted an S2000 at the end of my university stint, but didn't have $50k for a second car/garage queen that it would have been. It was easier to buy used a few years later for 25% of the original new price, lol. All the best going forward, looking forward to updates !
