Worth tuning stock Comptech SC kit?

Worth tuning stock Comptech SC kit?
I have an 01 with the stock Comptech sc kit, with AC and upgraded heat exchanger. I plan on either upping the boost on this, or getting another kit later, so I'll have to get the AEM v2 anyways.
If the tuner was worth anything, would I benefit from getting it tuned now while it's still only at 6 lbs?

What gen kit do you have? Do you have the older one with just the rrfpr? Or the newer gen that comes with the black box that lowers vtec and has some fueling correction programmed in? If the Latter, no not worth it. You will gain nothing but weight saving in a much lighter wallet.

You should buy a smaller pulley for more boost and also go get tuned on aem. It makes no sense to only run 6pounds of boost with an ems. You can easily make 70-100whp more on straight 91/93octane pump gas with just these 2 things.

Nahhh, if he wants to pulley down substantially, he'll need a clutch, injectors and fuel pump. I also wouldn't personally run a moderately boosted s2k without a wideband and boost gauge at minimum. Oil pressure gauge, oil cooler, larger bov and upgraded radiator for bonus points.

Simple ECU drop in and a tune is worth every penny TO ME. Shifting VTEC transition down to 4K RPM and fine tuning wide-open throttle was a night and day difference... even with my 7PSI pulley.
With that being said, I would ONLY do that if I was planning on upgrading the clutch, smaller pulley, and yet another FINE-tune this time for a lot less.

So I contacted John from LHT about what options I should take to achieve a safe and reliable 350-400 hp. He said in the long term, he would 100% go with the new Kraftwerks kit.
Now I've seen his work online and I like and respect him a lot, so I'm definitely not saying he's wrong. I'm just wondering if I'm better off keeping the Comptech and upgrading to the Novi 1200 instead of switching out everything. It would be much cheaper too huh?

Yeah, makes no sense to recommend that, when your current kit will make 400whp+ with a 3" pulley and EMS. Walk away from this tuner, he obviously just wants to sell you a kit and make money on install and then tuning.
Moving to a NV1200 blower with conversion plate on my old comptech kit was something I did, and it was a nice 50whp bump. But its not necessary to reach your power goal. Save your money until the original NV1000 you have needs rebuild/replacement and then do it. Its roughly a $2000 upgrade with everything.
But something you can do in the interim with your current boost, is simply purchase one of the new gen ecm boxes as i mentioned previously from SOS or CT-Engineering. This is a non tunable easy pnp device that lowers vtec to about 4k rpm and compensates for proper fueling there. Its about $350 if I recall. Considering its pnp with no tuning, it offers a lot of bang for the buck. This box also incorporates your current spliced in esm which is there to clamp the MAP from seeing boost pressure. You may or may not have to remove that ESM. You can try with installed and see. Worst case you just need to remove and solder/crimp your few engine harness wires back to stock. Some nice improvements with the ecm box were made to the base kit since your original comptech kit was developed. With any luck you dont have the absolute first gen kit which had no aftercooler. If you do, you will definitely want to incorporate one when you up the boost, or an fmic- which are cheaper solutions.
