Default New tyres - cars now veering

I've just had 2 Avon ZV7s put on the rear and now at speed (50+) it tends to randomly veer left and right. I'm not liking the feel, doesn't feel safe at times.
I'm going to go back to the garage (Peugeot main dealer) to see what they say but wonder if anyone has had this themselves.

I've had Bridgestone's and Falkens prior without issue, thought I'd see if these Avon tyres would give me more than 10k miles.

Edit 03/2017 : Changing the front tyres (worn inside edges) solved my issue.

Check the date stamps on them. See if there is any major variation.

I had a pair of RE050A's, 12 months between them, one made in Poland the other in Japan and it handled exactly as you were describing. Also it would point right on acceleration then left when you'd lift off.

A week between them 37/38 16

Have had it before on point of acceleration on my last s2 and solved that one with correcting the tyre pressures

I remember them apologising for the wait as they were looking up torque settings for the wheels and said 180 if you want to know.
I thought 180 (although not enough) was for the hub nut.
Is the wheel nut torque 180,if not could this have any affect?

180 (somethings) is about double what you want. 110Nm or 80lb ft as standard.

Check fitment (should read "Outside" as it's an aysymmetric tyre).

I remember a similar post now when I put re050 on. being twitchy and Richmc mentioning bedding in I think.

I'll put a few miles on em see if it sorts itself out.

I had Avon zv7s fitted this year all round and despite being reasonably cheap tyres have found them to be excellent in all conditions.

Veering is extreme but I would say that they do feel a bit odd on new tyres.

30 miles back home, seems back to normal.
I'll get it on a faster straight this week and see how it is.
I didn't notice it on the last tyre change (Falkens)
Maybe worrying over nothing!
