AMSOIL Oil
I know this topic get beat to death but I was just curious if anyone has used AMSOIL Premium Protection 10W-40? I'm trying to bring my oil pressure up a bit at idle and I figured I would start with a thicker oil and they don't have the signature series in 10W40. Will 10W-40 be bad for cold starts? Should I be concerned over a long period of time? Thanks for the help.

You don't burn any oil? OEM recommended 10W-30 may be fine. I use 5W-30 in the S2000, more to keep me psychologically happy during cold starts. Esp when I'm up in Monterey or Santa Cruz, during the winter months. 
I run 0W-30 in my Element, that sees a lot of sub-freezing temps on my winter trips to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Neither car burns any oil. At least, not between changes.

I would try this first

Very good oil and you can see if a 10/40 will up your oil pressure.
If its still a little low try a good 15/40 like Rotella or Delo
I run 10/40H/M in my '06(with 134k miles) and I don't use any oil between oil changes and my oil pressure is up to what the book calls for when hot. I have had my S in cold weather(,-7F) and we went through Death Valley when it was 119*(hell yes we had the ac on). 10/40 will work great in cold or hot weather. Unless you live where it gets cold(-10F) for days on end I would use the 10/40. Even a 15/40 will work down to 0F.

What's ur oil psi at cold. Then at at warm idle? I see no reason to leave Honda specs for oil recommendations. Unless ur motor is hurt. I use Mobil 1 10w-30 and I stay in redline all the time. Never an issue.
