They stated the G35 is plaged with understeer and a notchy gearbox. Overall they liked the 4 seat lightweight package of the Mazda. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds is not bad at all.

As a big Mazda fan, I'm glad the RX8 is being well recieved. This is good news for a potential RX7. Stay tuned folks!

 

0-60mph in 5.9 seconds, thats with a 8K clutch drop.

5-60mph in 7.5 seconds. I think 5-60mph for the S2K is about 6.7 seconds

 

Actually the street start on the S2000 was 7.6 in the December issue.

 

In Sport Compact Car (Oct 02 issue), they were comparing the Spoon, the Comptech SC'ed and a stock S2K. 10-60mph for the stock S2K was 6.1 seconds (5.2 for the Comptech SC'ed one). So it takes about 1.5 second to go from 5-10mph? No way!

 

anyone have the dragracing #'s to see how fast that Cobra was?

 

That Cobra should've annihilated the RX8. Mazda must be paying top dollar right now.

i agree. the cobra should have smoked them both badly...what is MIGHT lose in the corners it will more than compensate for on the straights.

very questionable how they rate these cars.



i don't like the back of the RX8, and i also wish they stuck with the turbo.

rx-8 is cool but a comlete rip off of the S2000...high revving,small engine,no turbo.. nice tho
