Is this a preventative maintenance or only change/upgrade when existing TCT goes on you?

Both, the part will eventually fail so some decide to change it when there current one is still in working order as preventative maintenance. And the ones that are loud as f@#k are changed for obvious reasons

Both, the part will eventually fail so some decide to change it when there current one is still in working order as preventative maintenance. And the ones that are loud as f@#k are changed for obvious reasons
One thing that complicates the whole thing is that the noise is very similar to the dreaded 'starter grind'. Easy to confuse the two....

I changed my TCT at 40K miles as preventive maintenance. The Billman Gen-X unit. Took 15 minutes.
