WTD Attendes
UPDATE 4/12/2016
Anyone else going??
UPDATE.....3/20/2016
FYI
I have been talking with the hotel and unfortunately they are not offering any discount and in fact she wanted me to sign a contract guaranteeing a minimum number of rooms. I am not and will not do that, it is crazy to ask any one person to be on the hook for rooms especially when they are not willing to offer a lower rate.
Bottom line is we all need to make our reservations separately like Ron mentioned and has done. I see where several of you have followed his suggestion/lead. (Good Call Ron)
I booked my room today and I suggest everyone who is going call or go online and book yours ASAP
Thanks everyone!!
Time for a new wrinkle in our traditional trip to WTD..........Normally we stay at Dillard House on the evening of the drive to the mountains (Wednesday 4/20) and then leave early Thursday morning for the back roads trip thru Highlands on the way to the Fontana area. In the past we have discussed staying Wednesday evening in Highlands, well this year I am doing just that and you are welcome to stay in Highlands as well or you may stay at the Dillard House as usual.
The stay in Highlands WILL be more expensive then the Dillard House so if spending a few dollars more for your room Wednesday evening is an issue this may not be for you.
I have researched the Highlands area and found a property owned and operated by Old Edwards Inn called
200 Main
200 Main Street Highlands, NC 28741
(828) 526 2790
(866) 526 8008
The Website link is HERE
The Hotel is described as a "Motel Chic Property"
200 Main....At our new motel-chic property, enjoy many special touches found at Old Edwards at a casual-lodging rate. In a wooded setting two blocks from Old Edwards Inn, 200 Main features hardwood floors, Frette linens, heated marble bathroom floors, stylish room décor and options of terrace rooms and fireplaces. Guests of 200 Main enjoy an on-site heated mineral pool, large outdoor terrace with fire pit, complimentary fresh fruit and coffee, and wine sales in the lobby.
Staying in Highlands gives us plenty of dining options from pubs to more upscale all in walking distance to the hotel.
I have spoken with the hotel and i am waiting on conformation of a rate which may be the advertised rate of $110.00 per night. Again I am attempting to get a discount and will post here in the next few days.
If you are interested in staying in Highlands vs Dillard please post below and I will let you know once the rate is established with details on how to get a reservation etc.

The Tribe of Tillett will already be in Helen, GA for the full week. It was our intention to meet at Clayton and hit Warwoman as our usual warm up. What time do you think that you will be pulling out of Highlands?
