Default first time owning manual car. idk what is wrong with s2k

when i start the car and try to put the car into gear (1-6, or R) it wont budge. fyi car has 40k miles.
i need to step the clutch a few times and maybe sit in car for 5-10 minutes before it will let me go into R or 1st gear to drive off.

is this what people call "slipping"?
or do i just need a new clutch kit installed?

anywhere to go in houston for a replacement and how much am I expected to pay? a few friends dont know what im talking about but they said it would be around $400 for parts and labor.

thanks everyone!

First time you've driven the car you bought over 3 years ago?

Time to take it to a Honda dealer for maintenance.

I would start with the clutch master cylinder and or slave cylinder. You should check the fluid level in the reservoir. If its empty, fill it up and bleed the clutch. if its full, then you should have some one check it out.

Good luck.

Whoops, I meant I haven't driven this car in a week because I notice this problem . it has never sat idle for more than 8 days.

I'll have them check the master, slave n fluid levels. Appreciate it guys

I'll bring it in to a few places and see what they quote me. Thinking if the one by bellaire Fondren and bissonet/beltway8.

update: it was the master cylinder leaking or something. it was $230+ tax for labor and part. (if anyone needs a quote)
