Finally getting onto this forum...
...after years of getting great info.
I've got a year 2000 S2K with about 207k miles in the Dallas area. I sort of inherited from a friend's father who passed away (my friend's wife refused to let the father of her children take it). I've had it about 3.5 years now and only done the bare minimum to keep it moving. But I'm now faced with the reality that there are several costly projects under the hood I can't ignore any longer. So, I'm scoping out the cost and depth of the work. Then I'll decide whether to invest or tragically part ways.
I'm hoping to get some advice on good shops in the DFW metro area that you all recommend and trust. I've got a couple of generalist shops that I've relied on that have done smaller projects but I'd prefer to get someone who knows the s2k engine decently well.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Likewise, will keep eye out for info on meet-ups. I love meeting other S2K owners and hearing their stories.
cheers,

I drove all the way from Odessa to have John (00mugens2) work on mine. He's an s2000 expert, and I think you'll find his pricing to be very fair (and, a very nice guy).

My suggestion is that you join the FB group (NTXS2KI) where most of the meets are posted. We typically meet at least once a month, and quite a few of us also do track day/HPDE's with Apex Driving Academy at Cresson, so you'll see quite a few members there as well.

New to the forum my names Ryan and i'm from the Fort Worth area. I've wanted an S2000 ever since they came out now I can hopefully afford one but prices are getting high and i'm being really picky. I'm looking for an 08-09 with less that 50,000 miles and has to be in GPW. Hopefully I find one soon.
