Default Anyone know the history of this car - GR53 CFF?

Looking to buy an S2000 and have been poking around the site for a few months now.

Ideally id like a facelift model and i have seen this model come up on ebay, what looks to be taken in part ex at a Ford dealer.

2004 HONDA S2000 AP2 Facelift S2k Integra Silver Grey Civic Type R I-Vtec eBay

Anyone know this one? It looks pretty clean, and the only mod i can see it the removal of the Honda badges.

Any thoughts would be awesome, as I'm a big Honda fan and would love an S2000 to tinker with and enjoy in the summer.

Does look too cheap to be true but you never know.
Just checked it's MOT history and it reads pretty well - nothing mechanical to worry about - this was the MOT done in Nov 2015 and has just expired.
The latest MOT isn't on the DVLA site yet though.
Best thing is to go have a look, check for all the usual stuff, and go for a drive.
Happy hunting...

Looks very cheap... and to be honest, sounds genuine enough. If nothing else, someone could make a tidy profit...

Very inexpensive but according to the ad it's a Honda Civic-R with the i-VTEC engine...

Paint is too nice to be original so the car so must be a repaint but colors match under the bonnet/hood and the door jams. I'm seeing at least one of the body panel stickers.

Worth the drive. MOT?

If you google the phone number it will show you numerous cars the guy has been turning round, probably someone who just buys and sells cars from home to make a bit of money on the side.

Engine bay looks un-loved and interior is very grubby but mind you...you see that with more expensive cars as well.

Worth checking out at the price i'd say as you could plough a bit of money into bringing the car back up to spec.

Very rare that something like this comes up! Probably too good to be true, make sure you do a HPI check, a lot of cheap ones end up being cat C or D (not necessarily a bad thing). Maybe, just maybe, it's one the those few times on eBay when someone just completely under-values what they're selling!

Wish I had 6k laying around, I'd pop down the road and check it out!

Check if it's had a replacement engine. Looks at the white writing on the cam cover, that's how breakers tend to track\mark items.

Remains of a strut brace too... odd..

Also, check MOT certificates. According to online, there was no MOT from Aug 2013 to Nov 2015. And again from March 2012 to Aug 2012, plus another gap before that.

Odd, I usually find it's spot on. Also some discrepancy in mileage.

Just because it's HPI clear doesn't mean it hasn't seen paint or not been crashed. Engine bay looks like it has done all of that 99k miles and the list of MOT failure stuff suggests a degree of unloving by previous owner(s). Oh and the rear plate holder is about to fall off due to rusty brackets.
