it was a bit foggy this morning I went out quite late, it was a good drive though I think I took a wrong right turn and ended up in a kind of foresty narrow road lol, anyway the car survived without scratches.

There's quite a few of those round Leith Hill, you wonder whether you've ended up in the deepest darkest bit of Wales yet you're not even 40 miles out of London.

I've done a mtb event down in Peaslake a few times and getting there is a nightmare on all the shitty little roads.

Just as far as alfold, then cut though via loxwood, adversane, to the A24 at ashington. This is a great route for a bit of 'enthusiastic' driving, but not too many overtaking points if you do get stuck behind a lorry. From Ashington straight over the A24 to the A283 then you've a choice of routes to and across Devils Dyke.

Unfortunately a big chunk of the Afold / Adversane route is 30mph limit due to the many villages on the way. There are some nice sweeping bends as you approach the a272. (And some nice pubs too)

True, but there's still a lot that isn't and the roads aren't anywhere near as chocker with cyclists as the roads around leith hill.
