Default Immobiliser issue after dead battery

Chaps. S2K battery died well and truly after not being used for 3 weeks. I've had the battery inside for charging for a couple of days, and went about buying a new battery anyway. Attach new battery, alarm sings its nuts off, but it wont respond to the fob. So have to use the key to get in. The car wont crank, lock or unlock using the fob.

Car is 2003, which I believe is the H&P system.

Any ideas?

Already emailed last night. Will chase on the phone today. I imagine they will likely try and tell me there's a hardware fault.

Had this exact same issue 4 weeks ago. H&P say it's not down to a flat battery/jump starting but the only way to rectify it is to remove the alarm box and send it to H&P along with your key fobs. They will recode them for around £145. Turn around was under a week for myself and they refurbished my key fobs which was decent.

I tried a few alarm places around my area but very few did house calls or knew about the S2000 alarm system so I bit the bullet and sent it to H&P.

Good luck

Call Jim at H&P, he is the only guy at H&P who knows anything about the immobiliser let alone anyone outside the company. Similar thing happened to mine and after speaking to him I ordered a new circuit board which comes with two new key fobs for about £215 and is easy enough even for me to install.
I still haven't got round to it but intend to send the old one back to get it refurbished in case it happens again in years to come, being as Jim is already past retirement age and once he's gone, god knows what we'll all do!

As above, I also discussed with Jim over the phone and he confirmed (99% sure) that was my issue. IIRC he only works Wed/Thu 10-4

It must be related to the flat battery. Its only occurred having spent time with a flat battery for a week or so then a few days without one at all. I assume, if that's the case, the immobiliser unit has just completely forgot all programming.

Possibly. My issues began to occur over winter when it was left in the garage for months on end. Now I leave it connected to an Optimate4

By the way, when you speak to Jim ask him for the info on the tool required to open the box. Without it I'd imagine it would be a right PITA

Spoke to H&P, said the board and keys need to go back to them. I'll be liberated of £144 for the pleasure. Apparently some units just loose the programming after time without any power.
