Not sure but if I'd have to guess I think the cai is gana b louder. If u want LOUD go with the aem v2.

here r some pics. The pipe near the throttle body is going to be changed to a 3.5 pipe whenever I have time.

Will a proper cooling plate in combination with a K&N fipk prevent heat soak?

i think ur Talking about the short RAM kn intake ? If so it will still heat soak. The only way to prevent this is by venting ur hood right above the filter. But watch for rain.
