MAP Sensor - Clean or get the "new" version?
I'm a bit confused about what I need to do. My idle drops and engine shudders when I come to a stop or when I press the clutch. I read that cleaning that MAP Sensor and IACV will sort that out. The IACV seems simple enough to clean but as I was reading about the MAP Sensor, I found there was a Service Bulletin in 2004 with a new part number. A revised model of the MAP Sensor.
Is it recommended that I buy the new MAP Sensor or just clean the one I have? I had a look on Hendy and their part number is completely different from the one listed in the Service Bulletin. I'm happy to buy it from the US, it's crazy how much cheaper it is.
I have a 2004 (facelift) with 60K miles.

I had a dodgy one, tried the whack, tried the cleaning - I sourced a 2nd hand one from ebay(!) with the part number from the top of the map sensor - turns out it is the same one as from a civic...Honda Civic 1.4 EJ9 Denso MAP Sensor 079800-4250

IACV normally makes it hold onto revs but mine has been dropping low like yours. It cant be the map as I have an AEM map sensor installed due to being charged so my money is on my IACV. I'll clean it one night and see if it cures mine.

For the MAP Sensor, it's easier (as far as I'm aware), all you have to disconnect the pipe leading to the MAP Sensor, unscrew it and clean underneath.
