If you're changing wheels is there an option for 18" which again are proven fractionally quicker than the 17"? Good luck in the new season anyway mate, its always fun to watch.

Is there any really advantage or difference between 17's & 18's once tyres are fitted?

Hows the arch mods coming along?

Not so keen on 18s and not many people using them. I think 17 is optimum for weight and keeping some feel.

Ive gone for the 6UL racing 17x10 et52 wheels supplied by Tegiwa. Possibly not the nicest looking wheel but they are reasonably light, good offset, well priced and easy to get replacements. Really wanted to go down the Advan route but the thing to appreciate is cost but also a lot of these 17x10 wheels with S2000 offsets are special / limited production runs, and buying 2 sets plus delivery is getting on for £3500. I've picked the 6UL ones up for just over £1k (sadly no poor racing driver discount) and don't care if I bend one

Here's a pic and free plug

They don't look too different from the Enkeis, get them painted in orange and I doubt many people even see you've changed them

Have you started on the arch work yet?

Not yet as may not need it - mine have had a bit of work previously. Will mount them and see what's needed.

Yep lots to do!

Just as a note, will prob have 2 sets of Enkei PF01 for sale in S2000 friendly offsets and will prob the Js front bumper as it's too posh to race with I think. No PMs please but just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying these items in future. Will decide end Jan.

The 5.38 diff turned up today and stuff chuffed I found one! Perfect hearing and will be a bit rapid.

Speeds with the 5.38 final drive would be:

************************************************** ****************************************

Top Gear gives 15.902 MPH/1000 RPM and a top speed of 136.759 MPH at 8600 RPM

Engine speeds in top gear:-

30 MPH = 1887 RPM 40 MPH = 2515 RPM 50 MPH = 3144 RPM 60 MPH = 3773 RPM

70 MPH = 4402 RPM 80 MPH = 5031 RPM 90 MPH = 5660 RPM 100 MPH = 6288 RPM

Top Speed in 1 gear = 43.124 MPH

And changes into 2 gear at 6390 RPM dropping 2210 RPM

Top Speed in 2 gear = 58.039 MPH

And changes into 3 gear at 6565 RPM dropping 2035 RPM

Top Speed in 3 gear = 76.026 MPH

And changes into 4 gear at 6688 RPM dropping 1912 RPM

Top Speed in 4 gear = 97.765 MPH

And changes into 5 gear at 7067 RPM dropping 1533 RPM

Top Speed in 5 gear = 118.980 MPH

And changes into 6 gear at 7482 RPM dropping 1118 RPM

Top Speed in 6 gear = 136.759 MPH

************************************************** ****************************************
