£500! That's silly money. Half way to a big brake kit.
Contact either Bigg Red to refurb, refurb yourself if possible, or buy new ones from brake parts as mentioned y LG in comment #2.
Tin of calliper paint from halfrauds, £10 and plenty to do all 4 with spare.

Well, I decided to save my monies and not spend £500 on all four calipers. Instead, I'm going to get a refurb kit and sort out the sticking caliper myself.

I can get a genuine Honda kit for about £35, but this doesn't include a piston. I won't know the condition of the piston until I have have time to have a look which won't be until a couple of weeks time.

In the meantime, has anyone heard of, or purchased parts from, Budweg Caliper? - sold through brakeparts.co.uk, and also via eBay. You can get a full kit including piston for about £20 - yea I know, super cheap right?!

cheers all

Take a look at the damage first - mine had corroded both the pistons and the caliper bore, way beyond a refurb kit putting it right.

Before you do anything, give the pedal 20 or so hard pumps when everything is cold

Hammerite smooth paint. The fronts are just as fresh as this but I don't have a picture right now. Painted 2 years ago and daily driven.

I refurbed mine myself over a weekend, with a full brake change. Easy

Well, I got round to removing the rogue caliper on the weekend, However, the piston was stuck soild. So, rather than struggle with it, I bit the bullet and ordered refurbed front calipers from brakeparts.co.uk. Decided to change both fronts, and will change the rears in the next month or so.

I'll post up pics of the calipers when they arrive. They worked out at £125 for the pair. I'm not sure what the finish will be on them, so may end up painting them. Watch this space.

+1 for hammerite paint! Did my integra and my s2000. It last forever and the finish is really good, especially if you sandblast everything before hand!

+1 for brake calipers specialist too. They did a really good job on my rears. I sent new oem pistons with mine though.

Yes to the Budweg kit - I did my fronts using the same kit and it's still fantastic a year and a half later

Personally I'd always get a kit with a new piston.....this is Craigs from Saturday!!!
