Honestly guys, this is going to sound like a marketing pitch but it isn't... the rear solid rotors are Miata sized. Honda is great but dropped the ball here on the rear brakes either for cost saving reasons or because they were used to building FWD cars... but the stock rears are absolutely terrible. We didn't make this kit because we wanted to sell a product... we made the RX8 rear vented conversion kit because nothing good existed. We had enough with the small front brake kits that existed and were absolutely over the stock rear rotors for our track car... they cool only with radiant heat... that's it. It's the same rotor on a Miata with half the power and much less weight... and they work poorly on the miatas already if you track rear rotor temp. The S2000 rear rotor temps are off the chart, which is why the rear hubs get cooked and fail.

If you'd like brake parts, shoot us a PM.

It's usually just used for packaging reasons. Also those rotors are straight slot, the J-hook has a higher initial bite and I'm not sure if those are fully floating or not... can't tell from the photo.

They're AP Racing discs, 330x28mm with curved internal veins 2 piece with aluminium bells. Couldn't be bothered with floating as I didn't want the hassle of rattling brakes... J hooks also in my experience tend to create a lot more squealing and howling/humming under braking, given this car is a weekend going out car with the occasional track day, I opted for slotted. I know J hooks give better bite but they chin pads faster than slots aswell.

As I am running 17" wheels, I was restricted in caliper choice, which in turn restricted my disc choice. I was going to go for 6 pot 330x32mm but wheel clearance was my issue

All in all, I am impressed with the setup as it deals with punishment a lot better than the DS2500/OEM setup I had before hand.

Small update.

As with most aftermarket products, there will always be teething issues. Such is the case with the supercharger kit, the 25mm Kraftwerks recirc valve just can't cope or flow enough causing supercharger flutter. So, a few weeks later, with a revised intake to help lower intake temps and all fitment of a Turbosmart 50mm raceport BOV, she's running a lot better now!

A few pics of it installed along with freshly powder coated pipework done in Wrinkle Black.

Here's a small video of the sounds. No more flutter on gear change!

Here is another UK based option for a relatively cheap AP based kit gor the S2000 :
Reyland Motorsport - tuning, rolling road, high performance brakes and Cosworth specialist - S2000

They're an obsolete caliper now, so unless Reyland have stock of them, you won't be getting one of those kits.

He still has stocks of the 5040 calliper, but when these are exhausted it will be replaced by the 9440, which is a direct replacement, but more expensive, so the price will then go up at that point.

Looking back through your thread, i see that you under sealed the rear of your car, and then only around a year later your arches were ruined? were their signs of this while you were underselling or did it just seem to come all at once?
