I know it's been asked a million times, but after reading about two dozen threads I'm still confused!

I need to sort out my front tyres ASAP, and I'd prefer to give up a little dry performance (I've no plans to push the car too much for a long time) if I can gain some wet weather ability.

I've the 2004 facelift model btw, with 17" wheels.

It seems the Goodyear Eagle F1's come recommended for wet weather performance without sacrificing dry weather performance (compared to the RE050A) but the sizing is all new to me... could people please give recommendations? Ireland and the UK have pretty similar weather, though we might get a bit more rain over here!

Thanks!

You want RE050, not RE050a for 17" wheels.

More specifically, you want RE050MZs for 17" wheels.

Event tyres are selling these: Contisport 5 is in 17s but not Contisport 5p

Another question guys... considering it's October, would it be a better idea to get winter tyres for the S, as it's my daily driver anyways?

If so, what's recommended?

Cool, thanks for that. Seems the Kumho's or Goodyear Ultra Grip's are up to the job. Because I've the 17" wheels, is it really necessary to get a set of 16" wheels and then winter tyres for them? Or could I use my 17" wheels and put the winter tyres on them instead?

Thanks for this guys, I'm sure I'll look back on these questions in a few months and cringe
