Would certainly be happy with the 5W-40 in my car though. Infact I have even used the 10W-40 and tracked it without problems.

I've put the Castrol Edge TD stuff in before but normally use Silkolene.
Si2k, working for Castrol and knowing a lot about oil are you able to say whether Ester synthetic is better in a hot, high revving engine due ester synthetic having no point additives that degrade over time with lots of heat cycles?
My understanding of ester synthetic is that its a single weight oil but has the pour point properties of a multigrade so there are no additives to burn off; meaning the degredation of oil quality is less over a comparative period of time when compared to a hydrocracked mineral oil?
If I'm wrong tell me I'm a tw@t and I'll save a few quid in future!
