Where's the speedo signal cable?
#61
Right! Fitted Iron Head's Yellow Jacket today. His dealer has replaced the triangular nuts holding his ECU in place with hexagonal nuts so it was easy to remove the ECU. This made the jobs far easier
In the photo below I have identified a yellow/blue (or is it blue/yellow?) 5v wire which runs to the ECU
In this photo I show the speedo cable. Although the wiring may look as if its being cut next to the ECU, in fact the wire is being cut between the point at which it enters the passenger footwell from the engine bay in a big bundle of cables (in the background) and the blue connector in the photo.
And below you see the wiring in place. The yellow cable is tapping 5v, the white cable taking the speedo cable signal from the gearbox and the blue cable feeding the modified signal back into the wiring loom. The ground was connected to one of the ECU bolts.

Just followed the steps in this guide but I get "0" on the speedo when moving.
Blue wire is going to the blue/white wire c101 end white wire to the firewall end blue/white wire. Yellow power to the yellow blue from the blue block to the ecu.
Anybody any help please as the instructions which come with it obviously don't accomodate UK spec cars, annoying really since these have been around a while now and thought there would have been some up to date instructions.
When I check the voltage it's quite low at approx. 2-3v could this be the issue?
Also there seem to be 2 blue/white wires going to the c101 in the same terminal? could I have 2 vss wires that I need to tap into?
Any help appreciated.

hi guys - i'm looking for the same thing - i have a s2000 RHD in HK (close to UK) spec and my shop is having a hard time wiring these up. If anyone can conjure up Paper Lawyer to chime in, i will be eternally grateful.

These may be of help as they contain instructions for linking to the speedo cable: http://www.modifry.com/more/docs/Yel...-2000-2005.pdf

Beware: the crimping on the Modifry red line alarm connectors was so loose I swear they fell off the wires just looking at them. I suspect these will be similar. I was able to get tight connections but as received they were not.
