Default Can we have a spotted for sale thread?

I troll craigslist for parts and cars all the time. Maybe we can have a thread in the FS subforum for parts and cars that looks like good deals. For example, there's a CR for sale on Chicago craigslist that I would like to see go to an active member. Or there's the hardtop for sale for super cheap with no glass. Or I'm looking for wheels and don't want to search every craigslist city in the area.

The only reason I think this should go in a separate thread is potential buyers should be aware that they are dealing with with sellers who are non-members with no affiliation to the posting member or s2ki. The problem I can see though is non-members posting their stuff for sale on craigslist and getting equal FS exposure as paying members.

Thoughts from the community and higher ups?

^ I second that.

This morning at the dealer when I dropped the S off, I noticed they had an 03 silver S for sale, it'd be nice to have a place to tell people about that kind of thing.

Sounds like a cool idea.

they did something similar on the electronics forum as a "deal of the day" thread.

Alright. I think if the 3 of us like it, we should make it so I can make it.

Edit: actually, if a Moderator just wants to give official approval, let us know.

What do you guys think about this as the first post (feel free to edit):

This thread is for cars and S2000 related items that you have spotted for sale that UMW members would be interested in. The items in this thread are not for sale by S2ki members or anyone associated with S2ki. The purpose of this thread is to help UMW members gain access to good deals found by S2ki members around the Upper Mid-west. Regular For Sale guidelines apply. Additionally, do not post up items for non-member friends, non-sponsor businesses, etc. Only post up items that you have no affiliation with here.

Great idea Pat!!! If this grows fast, maybe this would be a good candidate to turn into a "monthly" thread.

BTW, I'm assuming Ebay items would be of interest as well, right?

I think ebay finds would be great. When I search for S2000 rims on ebay I get 10 pages of wheels to sift though, the majority of which don't actually fit. I'm also going to include links to hard to find parts and good deals I find on other forums. I think in general, things should be local. But I don't think that's a rule that should be strictly enforced. I mean, if there's an amazing deal out there that someone spots, location doesn't really seem to matter.
