Are you planning on taking the car to the track? Usually only people in hot climates bother with those and even then mostly specifically for at the track in 30c and up temps. Also in cold weather you may end up with worse gas mileage due to the engine not warming up to normal operating temperatures.

Maybe some track people know better but I'd think in our climate a vented hood to get the heat out of the engine bay would be more efficient.

Yup thats what i noticed in my car consuming so much gas everytime i start it in the morning. Then within a min my gas will come back to normal. But i have been noticing lately that its consuming so much gas. Would changing the thermostat help that?

There's nothing you can do. All cars use more gas when running in open loop when started cold.

Not sure what you mean when you said you notice it consuming more gas. Do you mean you saw a bar on the gauge disappear? Do you park on a hill?
