100tw Official Tire thread
Hello everyone. I am planning on doing global time attack very soon and the max tw I can use is 100. I have tried Nto1, r888r ( only one session) and RA1. What do you guys think is the best 100tw tire in means of overall performance. Need a tire that can handle 2 days of beat down with loosing its grip ness. Thanks in advance.

Sadly the best 100tw tire is a 200tw tire.
The RE71R/RivalS is faster hands down than the RC1/NT01.
Ive got both and in 255/40/17 on the same wheels (I have 2 sets of 17x10 949's) the RE71R/RivalS is 0.5 sec faster on a 2min course (measured at both buttonwillow and CVR).
I still usually run RC1 because they last longer and are overall cheaper but if youre looking to buy time that's it lower treadwear isnt faster. Also skip on the 275/35/17 RC1. We just did a test and the extra width costs too much top speed (tested on a SC car with 380rwhp we measured a 10mph vmax drop on vs 255 trofeo-r's).
The treadwear thing is a total lie.

Never driven on R888R or RA1 but the R888 were unimpressive and by most accounts the R888R are not a marked improvement. Most tire comparos put the RA1 at a notable disadvantage to the NT01/RC1. Of course none of that is first hand but I can tell you we haven't had anyone make a serious run at S2K challenge with any of them. Most still use NT01/RC1.
RE71R is the fastest thing 100tw-200tw you dont find faster until you get down into the 40-60tw range.
Of course the new RS4 and RivalS-1.5 just came out so maybe one of those has an edge but jury is still out. The RE is for sure the tire to beat.

Maxxis RC1s! No special heat cycle requirements and man there's a TON of grip. Pulled 1.87G (lateral) coming down hogpen @ VIR.

I still think the top two options are the 275/35/17 RC1 and the 255/40/17 RE71R for a true GTA Limited class time attack car. Tony Fuentes drove my S2000 with around 500 whp at the Road Atlanta GTA event last season on the 275/35/17 RC1s. I'm still debating what tire I want to run this season for Gridlife Track Modified which is also a 100TW class. I already have the RC1s, and I believe that Federal will have a new 100TW option as well this season.

I'm na bro. No going over 255 for me. Imo the car has slower turn out. Tony's car competed in the street class but imo he is good for limited class. After all his time was 2 seconds faster than the limited time winner

I would guarantee the RE71Rs are better in a 255. Dysen ran a 255 RE71R in Global Time Attack street class at NOLA in 2015. He was not that far off his 225 Hoosier R7 lap times at the time. I know he made a post about the details and the G forces somewhere.
