18x10 61 w/ 285/30
Looking to run a 18x10" offset 61 with a 285/30 r18 on the rear.
My current setup is 18x8.5 offset 42 with a 255/35 r18
I'm planning on having weldcraft wheels widen my current set of wheels and I believe this setup should fit. I'm only concerned about the inside of the wheel rubbing on the frame area where the suspension mounts to the body because the wheels' outer edge should sit in the same location as it does currently. If my math is correct it should sit about 15mm closer to the strut than the stock wheel and tire setup.
Please let me know if you've run a similar setup or if you know a reason why it will/won't work.
Thanks in advance

For that tire width a 10.5-11" wide rim would be optimum for contact patch and handling precision. You might as well optimize your set up since your taking the time/expense to do this. You can add .5" more to the inside without any complication/further modification and that would be my strong recommendation.10.5"/+ 67 is a perfect go to fitment for the rear of this car. If you dont care about a slight pinch, you could probably squeeze a 295 on this wheel/offset without issue depending on your ride height but not good on just a 10". There are more tire compound choices in 295 size. If you really had your heart set on 295's id tell you to widen to a 11" to better maximize that size and add a 10mm spacer.
I have a set of rpf1 i had Weldcraft widen for me. Been on them for a long time. I run a 11.5" +63 /295 in the rear with no overfenders and will be cramming 315's in there this spring.

I'm about at the max when it comes to how far I want the wheel to poke out so no go on running a spacer. I'm alright with running a pinched tire as its a street car and I don't need to extract every last ounce of performance out of it.
What kind of camber settings are you assuming? I'm currently at neg 3 with sbc joints so the tops of the wheels sit in a little bit more than stock.
Thanks again, all the wide wheel information is mainly by the overfender people and I want to utilize the space towards the inside of the the car and avoid using the voltex over fenders I have.

The good news is there is plenty of inner clearance so it won't be an issue. S2000Junky nailed that reply, and as recommended you might as well widen to 10.5" +67. That would allow you to run 285/30 or 295/30, no problem. Increasing to 11" is where you would run out inner clearance and need a spacer.
