Cold weather tires and wheel width fitment
Hey guys,
I will be purchasing tires for both street driving and autoxing soon. Star Spec ZII is the one I am interested in. The earliest autox here in NNJR is mid March. It would be still pretty cold that time. So my first question is: although the star spec zii has a wider operating temperature range, should I install them and run them at autox as well as on the streets in March, when the temperature is probably gonna be around 40F? If not, when do you guys usually start running these tires?
The tires will be 225F/255R. I am wondering, what would the fitment of 17*8 and 17*9 wheel width be, compared with the OEM 17*7 and 17*8.5 setup? I am concerned about the wheel-tire fitment and performance instead of the price and rubbing issues (fender work done already).
Thanks!
