Fallen Azenis RT615 vs Kumho Ecsta v720
both have same tread rating, but which one will have more grip?

The v720 should. Its several generations ahead of the 615. Tire technology has improved since the 615. They can make a tire stickier wile lasting longer then they could 10 years ago. Even 5 years ago.

Here's a good vid comparing the Kumho Ecsta vs a few other extreme performance tires:

While they dont include the Falken Azenis RT615, I can only offer my personal input. I tracked on the RT615K (the updated compound that was released a few years ago) and daily drove them as well when I only had 1 set of wheels, so the RT615 served double duty. I got 2 track days out of them and 10k miles before they needed to be replaced. I then switched to Dunlop Star Spec Z2's, and at time, set of Star Specs cost less than the RT615, and I felt grip was better, and steering to me felt more responsive. And seeing as how other S2000 track guys I know run on the Hankook RS-3 (mentioned in vid), they all love it and suits needs of most people, and if Tirerack is commending that high of the Kumho's, I could only deduct that it would be way better than the Falkens. Personally, I would choose the Kumhos over the Falkens in your postion. My choice for next tires will be the RE71r's

Meant to say RT615k.
America's Tire had a deal a few months back. Bought 17x9 TSW Interlagos. Have 235 RT615k in front and 255 v720 in rear. My bro set it up that way to make it less oversteer and hopefully tires last longer than the RS3, RE71r. I'm just a weekend fun track guy nothing serious.
I wanted the v720 to have better traction and it seems like it does.

Well...again, The V720 is not for track use....
They'll work well for autocrossing a very light car, it seems.
The S2000 is not very light compared to tyre size.
