Not wild about the look of the RPF1. But, something to consider.
Tell me, does a wheel like the Volk CE28n in stockish s2k 17inch sizing hold its value well if it is not damaged?

On a street driven car the performance benefit between wheels isn't bit, and considering the cost difference going to ultralight weight wheels it might not be a big benefit. Forged wheels are the best way to go if you want lightweight, but that costs more money. Many drivers who are very sensitive to handling will tell you lighter rims will accelerate quicker, stop quicker, and handle better with lower unsprung weight. I think that is all true but if the average person can really tell the difference is anyone's guess. One thing I did notice is that rotating wheels is much much easier, lol, man those Ap2v3 rims felt so much heavier compared to my JDM Ap1 BBS rims when it came time to remove and replace wheels on the 4 corners., much easier on the back, lol.

High quality forged rims like Volks do retain their value, but you always have to find the right buyer for the size and colour and someone wiling to pay that much for rims. They are my favourite rim manufacturer by far, and you get what you pay for.

If you're looking for a cheap set of ce28's a buddy of mine has a staggered 7.5/9 inch set with hankook tires for $1300 shipped IIrc. No center caps but in good shape. If you want me to hit him up and see if he still has them, shoot me a pm.

Well, they sure do look good. Beautiful really. I could sell my ap2 v3 wheels which are in perfect shape and recoup a bit of the price. And, I could count on selling them for a decent price down the road. This car has my money burning a hole in my pocket.

Also remember the weight savings is unsprung weight, I have seen anywhere from a 2:1 to 3:1 ratio for savings.

While doing research on weight of various stock wheels I stumbled upon this...

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/effects-of-upsized-wheels-and-tires-tested

I found it fairly informative and supports argument of tires having bigger impact than wheels.

Agreed. People generally purchase wheels to accommodate the fitment of a BBK or wider rubber. It's generally not considered a performance modification from a weight savings standpoint - that generally tends to be an indirect benefit when trying to achieve the main intended purposes when switching wheels, which is something on the order of 1) Looks 2) looks 3) wider rubber (too accommodate looks) 4) weight savings 5) and in a distant last - BBK fitment.

You are not going to feel any difference in a high end wheel and stock. You can feel a difference in weight though. The factory wheels would be considered high end but they are a number of options that will be lighter. OZ Racing Allegerita and the Enkei RPF1 and TRM C3 are all lighter and would perform better if you are tracking or auto crossing. If I can help let me know.
