Doesn't matter much what they are made of in reality... they are just meant to make sure the wheels are centered. Little if any weight is actually on the part of the hub that sticks out OR lugs when torqued down. The weight is supported by friction of the back surface of the wheel against the flat part of the hub/brake disc. This friction is created by the pressure the lug nuts exert on the wheel pushing it against the surface. W/o centering rings it is possible for the wheel to get mounted slightly off center and the vibration can get the lugs to loosen up thus causing problems.

so when i order i should be going for OD 73 ID 70 for front and OD 73 ID 64 rear correct?
