Default Nankang AR-1 The Next Track Tire of Choice?

Hey All,

I've seen some info around the net on the Nankang AR-1 tire but have yet to see much about it from the US market. Does anyone know if it is available in the US and has anyone used them on their S?

Here's a little video from One Lap Heros

Another review on an S2000

After hearing the quality of their other tires- or lack there of, I value my life too much to put it in the hands of their products.

Michelin, Hankook and many other major tire manufacturers have had recalls, so Im wondering why everyone is so scared of Nankangs other than "they are rubbish", "they are too cheap", etc

What do you mean rubbish? They make perfect drift tires

Keep them off a street/track car and they should work great lol

Pretty sure the requirements for a drift tire are a little different than a hardcore track tire. The tire above is not a drift tire. I would like to see some serious testing comparing the above tire to the other tires in that category which is basically r compound. I wouldn't be the first to jump in and try a tire from a brand that isn't known for quality products.

Nankang AR-1 are the official tires in the BMW M3 Cup, in UK!

Also i had the opportunity to co-drive a S2000 with AR-1s in track and the performance of the tire is outstanding compared to their price!

Finally, someone with first hand experience with the tire is commenting! What a novelty! I'd be interested to hear a little more about the life of the tire and some of its characteristics on the S
