lol well for the total cost of what this will end up being, he probably could have bought a house in NC to be closer to your BBQ and bourbon.

Dad is doing well! He had a defibrillator installed in his chest yesterday which will detect events like this if/when they occur in the future and zap his heart back into regular rhythm before he goes down. Can't prevent electrical disturbances, so the next best thing is a contingency plan. Hopefully he'll be released from the hospital today or tomorrow.

Brought my dad home from the hospital last night! There are still a few concerns, mainly liver function, but the docs think that he's just recovering from the shock of it all and it should all come to level soon. Jesus, what a week!
